00 — Founding Conviction

Every fixture is a small argument between geometry and warmth. We bend steel by hand because the material remembers the force — and the light carries that memory into every room it enters.

01 — Principle

The Rules

We Keep.

01

Form Follows Force

We start with the structural load — where the weight wants to go, how the steel wants to bend. The aesthetic emerges from physics, not preference. A Filament fixture looks the way it does because it could not look any other way.

02

Light as Material

Glass is not a vessel for light. It is a collaborator. Each blown form is designed to do something specific to the photons passing through it — scatter, concentrate, color, fracture. The fixture is incomplete without its illumination.

03

The Archive That Never Was

We work from a hypothetical Bauhaus archive — the pieces they would have made if the school had survived, if the war had not come, if Mies had kept teaching. We excavate an imaginary history and make it physical.

02 — Process

How a Fixture
Becomes Itself.

From raw stock to installed object — the sequence that makes the work irreducible.

Industrial steel bars stacked in workshop with dramatic side lighting revealing surface texture
Material

Raw Stock

Steel arrives in 6-metre lengths. We examine each bar for grain direction before a single cut is made. The material's history matters — how it was rolled, at what temperature, by whose hands.

Step 01 of 03
Furnace mouth glowing orange-white in darkened workshop with glowing steel rod being withdrawn
Process

The Furnace

At 1,200°C the steel becomes cooperative. We bend it once, let it cool, examine the result. If it needs correction we heat it again. There is no rushing this. The fixture will outlast every deadline.

Step 02 of 03
Glassblower shaping molten glass globe with steel rod, workshop in background
Form

Glass & Steel

The glass blower works from the technical drawing but interprets it. Two identical drawings produce two different globes — each one a unique volume of captured light. We do not correct for variation. We design for it.

03 — Collection

The Work,
So Far.

Each series is a contained argument — a formal problem pursued to its only possible solution.
